Speeding Ticket Trial Video: Steven Johnson

This week, newer mover-to-Keene Steven Johnson tried his hand at a speeding ticket trial against newer Keene cop Luke Antin, who appears to be a decent guy. Steven heroically refused the plea deal and appeared for trial before judge Edward J Burke, in Keene District Court… but not really.

See, Keene District Court normally occurs in Cheshire County courthouse’s courtroom one. At 8:30 in the morning on November 7th, as usual, dozens of people had filed obediently into courtroom one, awaiting Burke’s arrival. Little did they know, however, that Burke had appeared in the smaller, upstairs courtroom three at 8:30am sharp.

This is a smart move – it prevents the average court attendee from seeing someone actually take a speeding charge to trial. (Based on the large number of youtube views on speeding ticket trials – people are very interested in this subject.) Sure, we give the court victims fliers to encourage them to not take a plea deal, but it’s another matter entirely for them to witness someone actually doing it.

So, courtroom three contained four people: Burke, Steven, KPD officer Luke Antin, and the cameraman – me. Thankfully, we can record the court proceedings in New Hampshire, so the trial can be seen by the world. Here’s the video:

Documentary Focusing on NH’s Liberty Movement Celebrates Two Years & Over 115,000 Views!

Two years ago today, the premiere documentary covering the New Hampshire liberty migrations was released on YouTube: “101 Reasons Liberty Lives in New Hampshire“. It’s since racked up over 115,000 views on YouTube and has inspired countless people to start planning and making their move to The Shire!

The director and executive producer, Vince Perfetto, recently made this retrospective blog post celebrating the second anniversary of the movie. I highly recommend checking it out.

Now that the movie’s been such a hit on YouTube, to commemorate the second anniversary, it’s been uploaded to Facebook. Can the Facebook version get its own 100,000 views? Please help us accomplish that by sharing the facebook version. Thank you!

Manchester Drivers Mobilize With Cell 411

Yesterday, I needed a ride.  Looking to test Cell 411’s new “ride hailing” feature, I requested a ride across town, expecting to sit on my hands for the next two hours.

(Free Keene has already reported about the Cell 411 app, as well as the app’s new ride hailing feature.  If you are unfamiliar with Cell 411, check out this video.)cell-411-ride

I set the request radius to 15 miles.  According to the app, there were 100 drivers within 15 miles.

Within a couple minutes, I received a driver’s offer.  It’s a reasonable price, but I don’t immediately accept it.

A minute after that, my neighbor (who lives in my building, across the hallway) undercut that price by $1.

A couple minutes after that, my friend sent a Facebook message: His girlfriend saw my request.  She’s not available to drive, but he is.  Even though he hadn’t set up the app, he became part of Cell 411’s ride hailing experiment.  I got the ride, paid my friend and I even tipped him with a double almond milk latte.

Have you tried hailing a ride with Cell 411 in your area?  You may be surprised with the results.

Fundraiser Launched for Manchester Shooting Victim

At 2:20 in the morning on November 5th, 2016 Jarrod Ean-Dixon was shot four times

The Free State Project flag replaced the traditional Gadsden snake with a porcupine, a more peaceful creature - unless it's provoked

in his abdomen, at close range.

The shooting occurred in Manchester NH as the result of an argument that started over a flag. Offended by the porcupine used on the Free State Project‘s flag, the gunman became aggressive both verbally and physically until ultimately he drew a gun and pulled the trigger four times.

[from the newly-launched HelpJarrod.com]

Being an active member of the liberty community, Jarrod has earned the love and respect of many activists in and around Manchester, New Hampshire.  His close friends have started collecting funds for his rising medical bills and day-to-day costs.  Jarrod will be unable to work while he heals, and he is the father of three children.

In just 5 hours, the community has raised nearly $2,000, which includes over $300 in bitcoin donations.  Activists are also purchasing clothing and other items with the porcupine flag’s image on them, in order to raise funds and to show solidarity with Jarrod.  We still have a long way to go in making Jarrod whole.

WMUR-TV’s Amy Coveno Assaults Independent Reporter on Video

Dave Ridley of RidleyReport.com was outside a primary voting location in Bedford where he encountered slimeball mayor of Manchester Ted Gatsas being interviewed by WMUR-TV reporter Amy Coveno. Ridley at one point steps into the shot of the WMUR camera and Coveno responds by nervously shifting her position before actually physically assaulting Dave by grabbing his camera.

As she does it, she says “Hey, you’re distracting me from my job, thanks.”, then lets go. As though him being a distraction in a public place gives her the right to commit assault against him. Here’s the video evidence:

The real shame is that you’d think reporters would respect and understand the freedom of the press, but clearly Ms. Coveno believes there are a special set of rules that apply to mainstream media. And, she’s probably right. WMUR-TV is licensed by the FCC and that licensing scheme keeps out potential competitors from the marketplace. WMUR is literally paying a criminal gang for protection. Return of the Activist Left?

Today Steven and I talked about secession with almost a hundred people at a rally in Portsmouth, NH. The event was inspired by the recent election of Donald Trump. These people united under the message “Not My President.” Since I don’t believe in forced associations, I can get down with that! Everyone should have the president they want — or no president at all. We walked downtown with music blasting from our jackets, a big rainbow flag, and some NHexit signs! We brought propaganda with us, but there was so much to do, talking to people and getting video, that we didn’t hand out any literature! It would have been awesome to have support from other Seacoast activists. If you’re hot and gay and love freedom, you should move here and join us in Portsmouth, NH — the beachhead of liberty! Full hour-plus video below!

One local man in attendance said that he hasn’t seen anything like this since the 70’s. I’ve never seen anything quite like it. Is this the return of the activist left, silent and sleeping for 8 years, and now ready to return with ferocity? I hope so! I’ll criticize any politician in power, but it’s so much more fun to do it with the democrats.
