BOAHere’s the facebook announcement as it appears on the Occupy Keene discussion group from Tuathal Thomas Fitzsimmons:

I am planning a leafleting/protest on the sidealks in front of and along side the Bank of America (Central Square and Washington Street), this Friday, October 21, from 11:00 to 2:00 pm (3:00 if you can stay). I will have plenty of flyers: one side will identify the fraudulent and rapacious actvities of the Bank of America specifically; the other will be more positive promotion of Move Your Money day on November 5, along with the ‘whys’ of credit unions, and the stpes depositiors need to take NOW to be ready to close their accounts by the 5th. Signs would be GREAT….simple and to the point: “MOVE YOUR MONEY!,” and/or “BOA: BAILOUTS, FRAUD, FORECLOSURES & FEES,” “SUPPORT CREDIT UNIONS, NOT BANKSTERS.” Just join me there…I’ll be ready!

ArnoldBoth are on the calendar at http://calendar.freekeene.com , and here are Facebook events:

Ian’s “Speedy Trial” Hearing
Come and watch the people calling themselves “the state” claim that making someone wait for a year for a trial is “speedy”.
7/26 2pm

Hearing about Media Ban at Superior Court
David Vandenberg is asking liberty-lovers to witness his hearing regarding the media ban in Keene superior court.
7/27 1:30p
http://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=234088949956785

Also, the very boring pre-trial hearing for me is on 7/26 at 11am, the same day as the 2pm “speedy trial” hearing.

The jury selection for my trial for standing in front of a police car is 8/1 at 9a, and the trial will likely be 8/2 at 9a.

This is regarding the trial for when I stood in front of a police car last year as well as the drinking game arrest.

Memorial for Thomas James Ball – Friday 7/15, 8:30am @ “Superior Court”

ImmolationExactly one month to the day Thomas James Ball self-immolated at Cheshire “superior court”, friends, supporters, family, and critics of the insane “justice” system will gather to remember Thomas Ball, when the government people just want you to forget him. It happens tomorrow, Friday 7/15 at 8:30a in front of the “superior court” building at 12 Court St. in Keene. Here’s a facebook event for it. Though I created the facebook event, this event is not Free Keene’s creation. Liberty lovers at FK were invited by the event’s original creators, who I believe are the father’s rights group of which Tom Ball was a part.

If you arrive early, there’s also a possibility you’ll experience a showdown as Free Keene TV‘s crew will be attending and court security has threatened that there will be arrests of media.

See you there.

The Jury Nullification Bill (HB 146)

I know that a lot of the readers of this blog prefer out of the system activism, but there are certain bills that even some of the most diehard voluntaryists can get behind. I believe HB 146 is such a bill. The jury nullification bill has already passed the NH House, but it is having some trouble in the Senate. The Senate Judiciary Committee voted 2-2 on the bill as Inexpedient to Legislate, but that doesn’t mean the bill is dead. The full Senate is scheduled to vote on the bill later this week.

If this bill passes and is signed into law it would mean all the activism being done outside of court houses meant to inform potential jury members of their right to nullify a law would be done inside every court room where a jury is present. “In all court proceedings the court shall instruct the jury of its right to judge the facts and the application of the law in relationship to the facts in controversy.”

If you live in NH, please consider contacting the Senator that is supposed to represent you, or if you have the time, all 24 of them. A list of their contact information can be found here. The NH Liberty Alliance has pointed out that this is part of the official NH GOP platform, so if the Senator you are contacting was elected as a republican it might be helpful to remind them of this.

AngellYou may have heard the Porc 411 go out a couple of nights ago – Rich Angell and The Emperor were pulled over near Central Square after leaving Heika’s birthday party. Here’s the full story from one of the victims of police aggression, Rich, as posted on Free Grafton:

Shortly after midnight, Wednesday morning, the 5th of January 2011, I was pulled over by a New Hampshire staty on Roxbury Street just east of the Keene Centre Square.

The pretext for the pullover was an ‘illegal’ turn through a red light, and ended with a citation for ‘driving’ without a licence.

My arraignment will be held in the Keene District Court on Wednesday, the 2nd of February 2011.

Following is a summary of the events of that morning. Read more

LRN.FM News – NH Division – Now Recruiting Reporters

In case you haven’t heard, the guys from Freedom’s Phoenix are working with Copblock.org to produce a weekly newscast. It’s pretty good right out of the gate, so I added it to LRN.FM and replaced our old not-so-liberty oriented news service. However, weekly isn’t often enough, and news should be more decentralized, so what would be cool is to have 2:00 of news each hour come from the Freedom’s Phoenix crew and 2:00 of news come from NH (Free Keene, Free Grafton, etc). Or, if you’d prefer to do a full 5:00 news block, we could alternate hours – with the Phoenix crew one hour, NH the next, and so-on.

Are you interested in doing this? You theoretically could make money by selling a live sponsor for part of your 2:00. If we had enough people, we could split up the week and make the workload on each person involved fairly low, and perhaps have a daily newscast at some point, but starting at least weekly might be what needs to happen in the beginning.

Reports could be filed from anywhere, via a podcast which our LRN.FM automation system would pick up and put on-the-air nationwide, and of course people could also subscribe to the podcast.

Your thoughts? If you’d like to help, please respond to this topic on the Free Keene Forum.
